Who operates this service

The Skeptic’s Daily is operated by Bvolvr Inc. Contact privacy@scepticsdaily.com with privacy questions or requests.

Information used by the service

• Account information for sign-in and account management, including your email and information provided through Google sign-in.
• Profile details you supply, such as your handle, picture and biography, and the checks you choose to publish.
• Submitted story links, text and context, together with the resulting analysis and your free-check usage.
• Subscription and billing records used to determine Pro access. Stripe handles payment processing.
• Saved stories, follows and reactions used to provide the features you request.
• A notification device token if you choose to receive edition alerts.
• Device-linked story engagement events when optional measurement is accepted, including views, reading events, source clicks and share-button uses.
• Google Analytics visit and page-view information when you accept optional measurement, including browser and device information and approximate location derived by Google from your connection.

Public profiles and shared checks

Your public profile and checks you publish can be viewed and shared by others. Shared links can circulate beyond this site. Do not submit confidential material or personal information you are not entitled to share. Engagement totals are displayed without identifying readers.

Services involved

Google supports Google sign-in; Stripe processes payments and billing; Firebase supports requested notifications. Submitted story content and context are passed to Perplexity for source research and to AI analysis services to produce the check. These services have their own terms and privacy notices.

Cookies and browser storage

“Cookies” here includes local browser storage. Essential storage supports sign-in, remembers your cookie choice and supports requested features. A device identifier supports one reaction per device; notification storage is used when you enable alerts.

Optional measurement is off until you choose Accept measurement. If you choose Essential only, we do not initiate optional story-view, reading-time, source-click or share-count tracking. Sharing, voting and saving remain available. You can change your choice using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page; withdrawing consent stops future optional measurement, rather than deleting historical records. Choices apply to this browser and may need to be made again after clearing storage or changing device.

Account deletion and questions

You can request account deletion from your account page. Deletion ends Pro immediately without a refund under the terms of service, subject to mandatory rights under applicable law. Free-check usage is retained against a non-readable email fingerprint so deletion and re-registration with the same email do not reset the free allowance. This fingerprint is not a claim that the information is anonymous.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics measures visits only after you accept measurement. It uses analytics cookies; advertising storage and advertising personalization are not enabled by this integration. We do not send your account email, submitted story text, URL query strings or fragments in page-view events. Choosing Essential only stops this integration’s future measurement and removes its analytics cookies where this browser permits. Google’s processing is described in its privacy policy.
